Billboard Contest Winner. Alejandro Vara

The OKC Mayor’s Committee on Disability Concerns held a Billboard Contest for high school students to submit designs to for disability awareness.  The theme for this year’s contest was “Rumble says: Tumble-Free, Stumble-Free OKC 2014.”  Students were to create a design that consisted of a maximum of 4 color, with black and white being 2 of the colors. Students also had to include Rumble, the NBA OKC Thunder mascot.

Mrs. Dinkins’ class had 14 entries into this contest, and had one first place winner, and 10 honorable mentions.

Alejandro Vara won 1st place and was invited to be recognized at the committee’s luncheon.  Alejandro met Mayor Mick Cornett, and his design was displayed for all to see.

The 1st place prize was $500 and Alejandro said he would be using that toward a Mac book. The design will appear around Oklahoma City on 10-15 billboards.
